Hi,

finally, after a break for a couple of years, I am getting back to business and can concentrate on Home Cinema again. The new cinema is actually being built and I am looking for some missing parts.

I already have a set of HRQ 904 and want one more for my 165" curved screen project. If someone knows were to get a set or if someone wants to change with HFQ 900 (I have them, too), I would be glad for a contact.

BTW: this is my new cinema. A seperate building (all concrete walls, except the front) in my backyard:

Thanks,
Andreas

i've never heard of HFQ904's.. can you tell me how they differ from HFQ900's?

Hi,

sorry for a typo : the lenses I am looking for are of course HRQ 904. Probably a mod can change the name of the thread for me (I already have changed the text above) ? Thanks.

Gino: I have two G90s and will use a high gain screen - most likely a Stewart. The 904 lenses are for curved screen applications, while 900 are for flat screens. Since I am planning a serious curve, I am looking for the best corner focus I can get and I hope that the 904s can do what I want. I have not yet decided if I will do a blend or a stack.

Regards,
Andreas

I think you will find blending on a curved screen with high gain will be impossible.

Gino,

I think you will find blending on a curved screen with high gain will be impossible.

Beyond a gain of 2 I would 2nd that. A blend with a flat screen is most likely best being done with a gain of 1. As far as I know, nobody has done a blend with a curved screen yet - I may be wrong. My guess is that with a curved screen and a gain of 2..3, depending on the depth of the screen, it should be possible to do a blend without colorshift problems.

We will see....

Andreas

There was a curved screen blend at ISE 2007. They used digital projectors, couldn't see which ones. At IBC Fraunhofer demoed projection on an S shaped screen using three small LCD projectors and their blending and geometry correction.

Hi,
I think mrutopia (Jari) had some lenses in the for sale section a while ago...
Jim Parys is looking for some HFQ900 on another thread here recently.
Bear in mind that your curved screen will tend to lose contrast as one
side lights up the other, but if its all in fun - I would love to see it!
Cheers,
G
