I am totally new to the Home Theater world but I know what I want in terms of sound and price range, I just lack direction. If I could provide a little background information I am hoping someone can give me suggestions on equipment to buy.
Basically, I am in the market for a budget-oriented home theater system. When I mean budget-oriented, we're talking under $500.00. The HT is primarily for me and my girl to enjoy movies and sports (go Red Sox!).
The room I'm using is a modest 10" x 13" so I don't need audio equipment that is booming but I would like somehting that can definitely augment our entertainment experience.
Currently, I own a 42" LG (Model # 42LC7D) and a Toshiba HD-DVD player (Model # A-2). SO I am really looking at suggestions for a sound system that will compliment my existing equipment.
Does anyone have a recommendation on a HTIB or should I buy seperate components? With the former, I looked at the specs of the Onkyo HT-SR600 and SR800 as well as the Sony HT-DDW790 and HT-DDW995 but have not heard these systems. With the later, I just don't know what to look for because the reviews of every receiver in my price range make them sound so inferior to more expensive equipment. What to do?
Anyway, before I go to a store to hear any systems I would like to get the opinions of some of the knowledegable on this forum because you guys no waaayyy more than some guy at BB or CC who is unintersted in his/her job.
