I am on my third NEW Toshiba 65HM167. The first one that came from the company I ordered online had a large scratch on the inside of the TV. The second one had a broken frame. Yesterday I got the third one and it looked great. Since I have had two bad ones I thoroughly investigated the screen and found a small flaw. I hooked my htpc up loaded paint with a white background and found another scratch. This one however, is a dot and just a few pixels and very hard to find from viewing distance. Should I just give up and take this one? If I finally tell the online retailer to return my money and get one at a local store will I run into the same problem? Are all of them like this? It seems Toshiba has very poor quality control.

If you're going to see it every time you turn on the set, then send it back. You seem to have very demanding standards, which is fine (not that any of those were minor problems). I would expect that any other TV you buy could very well have these sorts of problems though. Good luck.

Consider that Toshiba is dropping out of the DLP market next year, along with Hitachi.

Agree - Go with those staying with the DLP game and going TI Darkchip4 next year.

Two strikes and their OUT IMO!

Unless I had to absolutely buy now I'd wait to see what XBR5 and DC4 has to offer on 2nd gen Samsung LED DLP and Mits with the new chip. CES 2008 will confirm this and that's 3 months away.
