Hey Dudes,
I have just recently noticed a very small circular smudge on my screen in darker scenes. I initially thought it was a reflection, but last night I looked inside the lens and saw a tiny speck of something about two or three layers in.

Any way any of you know how to either get this loose or remove it without having to take the unit apart?

Thanks in advance.

I'm interested in a response as well....I have two such shadow/smudges on mine visible in very dark scenes.

I am wondering if this would be fixed if I reseated the bulb?

Reseating the bulb won't help. You're probably going to have to take the unit apart and blow all the dust/debris out.

This is my first projector, but I thought the Mits HD1000 was sealed to prevent this kind of shiz from happening.

Oh well, is it difficult to take the unit apart and clear it out. Again, sorry for the newb questions, I'm just concerned I'll do more damage than good.

Thanks in advance.

Would it help to remove the bulb, vacuum and remove the dust and then reseat?

Thanks in advance.

If it were me I'd have the unit serviced due to my lack of familiarity with the internal components of a PJ. However, if you want to try cleaning it out on your own I would recommend searching the forum for relevant threads. Quite a few posts have been made regarding removing dust blobs from the optics of FP's.

That model is fairly new. Is it still under warranty? If so, you know what to do.
