Have to admin, this is the first year where there are about 10 - 15 games I want between now and the end of the year. Sad part is that I don't have as much time as I use to (about 8 hours a week) to play. However, I hate renting just because when I am in a mood to play, I hate the fact that the game may not be there or I have to pick it up.

So how many games do you folks buy almost weekly? And I mean between all of your systems. Am I the only wierd one? In my defense, I use to buy movies, but now I usually rent them thru a service like netflix except it is in Canada. They don't rent games online, but not buying movies saves me cash to buy games.

Also, this month alone, there are about 5 games I want from car games to sports games.

one a month for me is as far as the pockets stretch here.

On average, 1-2 a month, but usually there will be several months with nothing to buy, and several months filled with games I have to get. Plus I import...so the budget can easily jump up several hundreds from month to month.

At most I usually buy 3-4 games a year, and then get quite a few around Christmas time depending on what is out that I like.

I buy about 1 game a month. I also do online renting, so I end up playing at least 3 or 4 games every month.

it really depends on the time. the first few years after a consoles launch, i usually buy games maybe once every second month. like 4-5 years after the PS3's launch, ill probably be buying like 3-5 games a year.

In the past I have purchased on average one a month. The past month has been brutal. Rainbow Six, GRAW2, Nascar 08, TW 08, Warhawk, and Halo 3. And the only game I am truely excited about is Socom: Confrontation. I can honestly say being a weekend warrior is not enough to satisfy this many games. For the first time since I have been gaming I finally have stacks of different games to play. Instead of playing one good game to death and waiting for the release of another.

Average per month = close to zero

I buy maybe 6 games or less per year. This year will be a tad higher likely. 2007's buy's include:

Bioshock
Halo 3
Heavenly Sword

Really depends, this month I'll buy two Folklore and Ratchet and Clank

Typically I'd say 1-2.

My average is about 1 game a month, which is almost to much these days - just not enough hours in the day to get in all the gaming that I'd like....come on slip and fall in the store for that easy payday:)

Maybe 3 games a year for me. I usually will sample a bunch of games, buy the one that I like most, then play that one to death. Repeat the process about two times per year.

Some years I will end up with 1 purchase if the games from the previous year were still holding my attention.

I'm on a record pace this year with the purchase of a PS3, having bought 3 full games (not including downloadable games other than Warhawk) with a 4th that is almost a sure buy. The 4th game I may buy on the PC (mods, portability on the laptop) if it doesn't require a hardware upgrade.

Of the three that I bought I've only given a lot of attention to 1 of them. Heavenly Sword is on loan and Warhawk still has less than 10hrs of play.

At most one a month, usually 5-6 a year (though I've already bought 6 this year). I'm at least getting Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros. Brawl this year (both are pre-ordered) and, if I can scrounge up enough money, I hope to pick up Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, and R&C5 as well, in that order. Some of those will most likely be bought after Christmas, though, using the usual plethora of Best Buy gift cards I receive from relatives. :P

I average less then 1 per month. Sometimes I buy and resell on e-bay or rent. I've actually been trying to rent Heavenly Sword for quite sometime, but it's always out at my local blockbuster.

Usually about 1-2 a month. This all depends on how much money i have and the games out though. This November I'm looking at about 6, but Christmas will be close.

Are we talking PS3 games or all games? I haven't bought a PS3 game since F1 came out in March. I don't expect to buy any PS3 games until something great and exclusive comes out. I've bought Bioshock, Halo 3, and PGR4 for 360 in the last month. I guess I buy 1 game every 2 months or so between the two consoles.

I think now that games are $60 I am far less willing to plunk down money on a marginal to above average game. There are very few games in the course of a year that are really worth $60. I wanted to shoot myself after buying Far Cry Instincts on 360.

Seems that most folks don't buy many games per month, but also most of you mention that you will be buying a few more games before the end of the year.

I have to admit, this year seems to have a lot of good games releasing at the same time. My future/recent purchases are:

Ratchet and Clank
Folklore
Ski game on PS3 store
Halo3
Warhawk
PG4
Blue Dragon
Eternal Sonata
Super Mario Galaxy
NBA 08
Ratchet and Clank (PSP)

and there are a few more I purchase a few weeks ago.

Guess I need help.

That's the exact issue I have with next-gen games. Back when games were $30-$50 on PS2, I was more likely to purchase games I was unsure about. This year I have purchased four PS3 games and one PS2 game and am planning on purchasing around two more games this year.

I'm on the 2 out at a time plan on gamefly, and typically purchase outright 2/month.
Sometimes I just choose to keep a game I've rented. I probably also buy 2 Live Arcade or Virtual Console games a month as well.

I'm only actively buying 360 and Wii games at the moment. Haven't bought a PSP game in months (although I'll probably pick up the new Syphon Filter) and don't have a PS3 yet.

The irony here is that now I have the money to buy the games I want...and no time to finish them. And I can't justify trading them in for pennies on the dollar.

I bought my PS3 in June with two games (RFOM and Motorstorm), and since then I've purchased COD3 and GRAW2 (both great games btw). I'm looking forward to GTA IV, UT3, and Uncharted, possibly Burnout Paradise depending on reviews, but not much else due to monetary constraints. It's hard to find used PS3 games, especially for any game worth putting money down. And with my two most wanted games delayed, I've been finding more use for the older PS2 games, finishing those I haven't already (AC5, GT4, GTA:LCS & VCS), and picking up some great steals from the PS2 used bargain bins at Game Stop.

Less than 1. I only own Motorstorm, Warhawk, RFOM,& Tekken5 But have played and/or finished countless others (at least 10) by renting. 60 bucks is too much to plunk down for "ok" games or half baked ports. I do see myself getting R&C, Army of Two, and COD-4 before the end of the year.

Far, far to many. I usually buy around 50 to 100 year depending on the year. I'm currently buying around 3 to 6 a month for the 360 and 1-2 for the PS 3, 1 for the Wii and a couple for the PC (sometimes I buy the 360 and the PC version like C&C 3 as I have friends on both).
The down side is I don't get to play 1/2 of these games nearly as much I would like and I'm often looking at games 6 months later that I've thrown in once and never touched again.

This month alone (Oct) I've already picked up Halo 3 (didn't get it till Oct 1 - dont' ask), Warriors Oricho and PGR 4. I don't even want to talk about movies I have sitting on the shelf waiting to get watched (many still in the plastic)

Just way to much media content I like and not enough time is my issue.

I buy most of my games used so it kinda varies on what is available in a given month. Probably 2 or 3 a month though. I've been trying to just rent sports games lately since I usually get sick of em after a week or so.

about 0.25 a month for me.

No sooner did I post to this thread about buying three 360 games in the last few weeks and now my 360 is dead. Just popped in PGR4 and got the 3 red lights. I barely played Halo 3 and was about to finish Bioshock.

Now I have to live with the two games I have for PS3 for the next month. Maybe if I play Resistance drunk I won't know I played it through twice already

PS3 purchased at the end of March
Disc Games bought
R:FOM
Oblivion
Motorstorm
NCAA Football 08
WarHawk
Marvel: UA

PSN Games bought
Super Rub-a-dub
Rampart
Super Stardust
Blastfactor
Gauntlet
Cash, Guns, Chaos
Calling all Cars
Flow

So about 1 disc game per month or about 2/mo including the downloads so far all of the disc games have been worth the price paid, the d/l games have been hit and miss but the hits have made up for the misses.

For the PS3, my average would be .09 games per month. Hopefully games like GHIII, Uncharted, Tekken 6 and Soul Calibur IV will change that.

3 games in 10 months. So I buy 0.3 games a month. That should increase though when Unreal Tournament comes out !

So far this year I've only bought Super Paper Mario and Metroid Prime 3. Before the end of the year I intend to buy Guitar Hero III (PS3) and Super Mario Galaxy. Maybe Smash Bros and another PS3 game, but I'm not sure what.

That's funny. Mine died during the E3 event, right after I downloaded and wanted to start watching the videos.

My other one died when I first started to play the Blue Dragon demo.

Bad things always seem to happen at the wrong time.

Sorry, don't want to turn this into a RROD thread.

For me, it is all relative to what games come out in a given month. If there are three or 4 games that come out that I can actually see myself putting time into, I will get them all. At other points if I am spending hours playing only one game, there is no point in getting other games until I get sick of what I am currently playing. Last month I bought Madden and Warhawk, and in the coming months, with all of the games coming out, I definately see myself buying multiple titles.

I buy about one game per week. No way do I finish many of those, but I have been pretty good lately about only picking up older stuff, and making sure I get my $20-30 of enjoyment out of it before moving on to the next week's game. The only time I really break that rule is when something really important comes out, like the Half-Life 2 Orange Box on 360 this week, then I will buy it new and at the full $60. It will probably entertain me for the next month though, so it averages out.

The terrible thing is that I have enough games that I have never touched, or that I only played for like half an hour that I could stop buying games and have plenty to play for the next 5 years. Hell, most of my PS2 catalogue of 80-100 games is essentially untouched. I have finally pretty much finished my Dreamcast games recently though. Only took 7 years to play through those. :)

I like to play with my friends, so I don't finish all games. Some games, I do finish, but just ahnging with my friends and playing whatever is fun. Sometimes its racing. Sometimes it is madden. Sometimes it is fps. Whatever is fun. Old games are sometimes better.
