Hey guys,

I'm trying to hook up in the workout room for my wife something similar to what tivo offers with a GUI on the tv where you can access music on a home network. I would prefer not paying $300 for just that capability but sadly, that's all she wants. I was looking at the Mediagate MG-35 but there isn't much info on their website. I was not planning on getting a hard drive for it as I would just stream music and make playlist off our 120GB file server if that is possible.

Is this the best choice for what I'm looking for is or is there something functionally comparable that I could look at? our workout room has ethernet connection which I will use to connect this device to our network.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or advice you guys could give me.

Circuit City has the D-Link DSM-520 on sale for half the price you mentioned (online orders only).

It will also do more than you need. The 520 has no option for a hard drive -- it's strictly a networked media player. Actually, it'll take an external USB drive if you want, just nothing internal.

Tigerdirect has a DSM-320 for $155 with a $50 rebate through 10/31 (final price is $105). Similar to the DSM-520 without the Hi Def output.
