New to HD programming and am lucky to have HDNet and just love the Mixed Martial Arts programming that they have. The intensity of seeing the brutes in High Def really sold the format to me. They also have a show called Inside MMA which has a lot of updates on recent fights, some with still photos, not exactly using HD to its possibilities. Love the show, though I would love to see more intimate profiles of the fighters; how they train, what they eat -
Love that stuff - especially in HD!

I know what you mean. At first, I didn't think that I would be a fan to this brutal sport, but the more I watch, the more I'm captivated by how many forms of martial arts are used in these matches and seeing them in HD, well, I could watch grass grow in HD.
Well done Mark Cuban-- and HDNet (i too would like to see more in depth profiles) that Kimbo guy on this recent show - I've seen low def versions of him -- scary guy.
Looking forward to seeing baseball playoffs in hd, time to set my tivo!
I did see Kimbo on the last show and I too have seen his vids on the internet. That dude is no one you want to meet in a dark alley or anywhere he's not on your side. I'm a wannabe mma and watching the fights in hd without having to be extorted out of outrageous ppv charges, I hate that. Look forward to seeing a feature on him in the future too -- you're right, hd bb playoffs, I love it!

Cuban is also starting his own MMA promotion (HDNet Fights I think it's called) as well so ther should be plenty of action on that channel.
To get the HD version of the UFC fights it costs $50 a pop.
Free on HDNet is much better. Granted, the fighters are not UFC caliber but still can be plenty exciting.
WEC fights used to be on HDNet but that ended when the UFC bought the WEC. Oh well, plenty other promotions out there to watch.

The undisputed #1 heavyweight MMA fighter in the world, Fedor Emelianenko, just signed a deal with the M-1 organization. He was in negotiations to fight for the UFC but apparantly those talks fell through and he signed with M-1.
Now the rumors are that Mark Cuban has bought the M-1 organization.
Don't know if the rumors about Cuban buying M-1 are true but if so what a coup for the new HDNET Fights promotion!!
Also, on a side note, once the Fedor M-1 deal was announced Randy Couture, the current UFC Heavyweighjt champ (at age 44 no less), announced his resignation from the UFC. The only person Randy wanted to fight was Fedor, now that it's not possible, Randy decided to focus on his acting career.

I know I'm in the minority but I find the matches too violent (for my taste).
