Hello,

Looking to purchase an HD 720p projector (football, movies etc)....inclined to buy Optoma HD72 w/106"graywolf screen for a basement room @15' ....it had the highest overall ratings for dlp projector in March issue of Consumer Reports...the price seems reasonable thru Visual Apex....am i barking up the right tree? Has anything come out since March (comparing apples to apples) that blows away Optoma's hd72?

Have a look at the Panasonic PT-AX200U reviews, although it's not a DLP unit.

I have that PJ and I really like the PQ. It is a little more difficult to mount but with a little tweeking it can be done without useing keystone correction which can degrade the PQ. I did have an issue with the bulb burning out after only 550hrs and although it was only warranteed for 90 days they did replace it for free.Overall performance is good but get a calibration disc and you will see a big difference in PQ from out of the box adjustments. www.projectionguys.com should also have some good deals on that PJ. Good luck.......... You can check www.projectorpeople.com also.
