Hey there

As some of you can remember I'm the guy who cant get his astonishing (to me)
Marquee 8500 to throw an image from any source, having tried both S-video and two VGA to 5bnc cables...
(all I get his flashing, except for this one time when I twitched the cable and watched starwars for an hour:o)

Now the only solution seems to be to either get an RGB Box or an HDfury,
both will cost me just as much and I was wondering how big the difference really is?....10%? and how hard is it to install?

(I'm pretty good with the soldering iron...but with my bad luck, just about anything can happen:D)
The guy who sold me/traded me the projector, mrutopia, seems to have one of those HDfury things in stock and well be talking again tomorrow, anything I should ask him?

oh and also uh the projector is about to get ceiling mounted, right now it lies on the floor with four iron bars sticking out of them mounting holes and hence I can only tip it over to install the hdfury thing..I looked on curts site but I couldnt find it in the advance section please someone send me a link...:p

Information on the HDFury is on the first page you see on Curt's site. Click it. Click on FAQs, Tips, Manuals go to the advanced section. All you need is listed on the left side.

As for the HDFury, it's DVI in, RGB out. You don't install it in the projector, you connect it to your projector via a VGA-to-5BNC connector and, of course, a DVI connector on the input.

I don't quite understand why you're not getting a picture. Do you understand what the various inputs are and how to select them? Did it work when mrutopia had it? He should be able to help, he's pretty well versed on all things CRT and should stand behind his products.

he said he used an RGB box when he showed me it, and yes he stands by his products since he exchanged my non working marquee against a new one just a week later*
