Does Dish Network plan on matching the HD content that Directv is rolling out by the end of the year? I only see a couple channels as being "Announced" for Dish in the channel lineup sticky.
Anyone know if some of what's being rolled out exclusive to Directv? I have an installation set up for on the 13th, and I'm kinda on the fence again after seeing that chart.
With comparable SD programming (plus HD), I'm looking at similar monthly rates, but $200 extra for Directv's DVR.

DirecTV now has significantly more capacity than Dish Network for new HD channels. Dish Network may have the capacity to add 5-10 new channels, but I wouldn't expect much more than that unless they migrate their remaining MPEG-2 channels to MPEG-4.

Don't discount that option. They can get 2 extra HD channels for each mpeg2 channel they convert. It's not out of the realm of possibility.
You do realize that - at the moment - Dish still has more HD than Direct?
All I'm saying is that D* might have more in the near future, but E* will no doubt do everything to catch up. In the end there will be parity.

Which channels are MPEG2 and which are MPEG4? I just signed up for Dish a few weeks ago and the install is supposed to be this week. Ive been tempted to cancel and go with Direct with all of the positive reviews of the new channels, but the Dish DVR has some features I could really use, and Sci-Fi is the only channel Dish doesnt have that Id really want, mostly just for BSG.
