Sun outages may affect the reliability of the HD feed during the early games this week. The outages usually lasts about 20 or so minutes and will move from west to east across the country.
The outages move from west to east. Here's a calculator (http://www.satellite-calculations.com/SUNcalc/SUNcalc.htm).

Thanks, my post has been edited.
CPanther95 10-07-07, 12:12 PM I think it depends whether you are facing North or South. ;)
Checking in on CLE / NE on WWJ from Comcast in Detroit on commercial from the FOX game. It looks like typical CBS great quality.
NYJ vs NYG - WCBS via Verizon FIOS
Today's game lacks the usual sharpness that CBS delivers game after game. I believe it has to do with the overcast condition in NJ.
icemannyr 10-07-07, 02:07 PM NYJ @ NYG
I notice the same thing on WCBS-DT OTA & FIOS NJ.
The video just does not look very sharp today from Giants stadium.

skyehill 10-07-07, 02:14 PM Watching NE-Clev in Raleigh on Time Warner Cable (unfortunately) and they just lost their HD feed for about 15 mins.
bases1616 10-07-07, 02:18 PM NFL Ticket channel 719 has a video stuttering problem with the Patriots-Browns game.
illinigirl 10-07-07, 02:34 PM we are experiencing a 'bad feed' or some kind of stuttering on our CBS NE-cle broadcast. It has been present since the start of the game. Anyone else?

Sounds like a sun outage problem. Read the 3rd post in this thread or more info is in the Fox thread.
Jim Skripchuk 10-07-07, 03:33 PM Anyone find the Dolphins/Houston game on Directv in HD? Email said 719, but no luck.
OggideM 10-07-07, 04:25 PM lots of blocking artifacts in the bal-sf game here in pittsburgh (kdka via cable)
crownvic96 10-07-07, 04:27 PM OTA chargers-bronco's game looks pretty good here in Huntsville, Al,
SD / DEN now up on WWJ in Detroit via Comcast. Looks and Sounds good so far.
listerone 10-07-07, 04:30 PM SD/Den on Comcast (surburban Boston) PQ excellent but no play by play sound.Only field sound coming through.
listerone 10-07-07, 04:33 PM SD/DEN full audio back in Boston (WBZ-Comcast).
brettstan 10-07-07, 05:03 PM Why was the Dolphins Texans game on the RZC in high def but it wasnt available in high def anywhere else on the NFL package?
OggideM 10-07-07, 05:12 PM why does CBS game BAL-SF not have the SD_DEN score on the bottom screen bar ?
:confused::confused::confused::mad:

:confused::confused::confused::mad:
well well ... it only took 29+ minutes of game time, but it finally showed up.
Why was the Dolphins Texans game on the RZC in high def but it wasnt available in high def anywhere else on the NFL package?
You can blame it on the MLB playoffs.
illinigirl 10-07-07, 06:03 PM unless the sun outages cause problems for several (going on 5 plus hours) that is not it. I believe now it is a local problem ( grand rapids) since there is no programming at all now. there is a grey screen with a message indicating as such...only question is whether that is related to the bad views earlier or separate issue.
If the sun goes down and it still doesn't work, it might be a moon outage ;) Seriously, a sun outage usually lasts less than 10 min so it must be something else.
They just switched us from the SD/DEN game to the BAL/SF game. I don't recall ever being switched away from a game that was a blowout.
icemannyr 10-07-07, 06:46 PM It's been done in the past but usually the teams local markets stay with the game. WCBS-DT has BAL @ SF now.

Not usually, the designated local markets are required to stay with a game no matter the score.
BAL / SF does not look as good as SD / DEN did, this game looks a little washed out.
There were several audio glitches during the Jets vs Giants game. On numerous occasions the audio would go from 5.1 to 2.0 and then back to 5.1. WCBS via Cablevision.
Bal/SF game was much worse video quality than NBC SNF. First time I've seen PQ that ugly from CBS. Hope it's not a trend. Oh, Dish was source.
