I hadn't used my projector in a month. I went to turn on the projector and it won't power up. The standby light goes on but there is nothing (no electronic sound, the fan doesn't go on, no tubes light up, nothing) that happens when I press the power button either on the back of the unit or from the remote. The error code just shows 00. Using the remote doesn't register a light below the "remote" on the back.
I have a spare/parts pg. Where should I start? Thanks, Peter

pamos,
If your remote led isn't blinking when you press a button on the remote and if nothing happens when you press the power button on the back it sounds like its a system related problem. Try re-seating the card cage boards. If that doesn't do anything try swapping the power supply. You don't have to remove the PS for testing, just unplug the connectors and reconnect to the spare.
You have the 5V stand-by but for some reason its not seeing the turn on command that turns on the rest of the power supply. If the remote went bad it should still power on from the power button at the rear. Other things to note is if you using a ISS switcher that is plugged in via the remote port on the projector. Doug
I pulled out and put back in the caged boards and then I took a working power supply and plugged it in but still the same thing. The standby light goes on but no power. What would be the next thing to try?

If it isn't connected with a ISS switcher try swapping the system board. If you have a running spare chassis try your system board in it.
Until you have it located use the power button on the back of the unit. Doug

Disconnect the F and C boards. I've seen those two boards short out in a manner so nothing will click and the fans won't spin. I'll bet one of those two boards is bad. Doug or I have spares.
I just replaced the system board in the cage and that corrected the problem. Is it common for the system board to go bad?

Not typically. Try making sure that all of the pushbotton switches on the board are in the 'out' position. Dirt in one, or bumping one into the 'in' position can cause that.
