Pretty straightforward question. Looking for comments from people who have either one of these.

They appear to have similar feature sets.

Thanks.

I looked at the Radiient products at CEDIA, and I was impressed with their appearance and features. I can not yet comment about their performance. I am currently waiting for their products to be released in HDMI 1.3 (estimated Q4)

I have been using Gefen switchers/splitters, etc. exclusively for about 3 years, and in the past 6 months I have been extremely dissatisfied with their products, exchanges and tech support. So much that I am now looking for a new source line. In the last six months I have been through 2 of their 6x2 HDMI switchers ($750. ea) and I am now on my 2nd failing 1x4 HDMI splitter. I have left messages with the Facilities manager, and the Owner/president, with out the courtsey of recieving any response. I can get tech spt, however, their usual response is to remove the product from the rack, open it up and re-set different combinations of the 8 dip switches inside, and "see if that works".

thanks tonypaul.

having read similar stories to yours about gefen, i had kind of already eliminated them...

i suppose i could wait for the 1.3 switch from radiient to come out, if for no other reason that some used previous gen ones will hit the market... :)

I am in the same boat. Although, I am leaning toward the Radiant, one it is SIMPLYHD certified and two, they just dropped the price by $50.00 for a limited time. Also, it has 4 inputs versus 3 inputs for the OPPO.

It looks like you have to pay extra to get a remote with discrete input buttons with the Radiient switch (unless you buy the more expensive switch that also has an RS-232 port). I've had good luck with the OPPO switch - see my comments on the OPPO switch here (http://www.prillaman.net/oppo_hm31_review.html). The Radiient switch would offer one more input, of course, and may support longer cable runs (my system doesn't involve any long cables).

I got the Radiient switcher and I hooked it up and it worked, however, I got some studder on one of the inputs. I switched inputs and cables and then nothing worked. My Samsung DVD player works but the video jumps on it. My Denon 2930CI now says mode not supported when connected and I am getting a weird message on my Directv receiver, which states: "this program contains content protection that restricts viewing on the television attached to your Directv receivers HDMI connectors".

My Directiv and Denon 2930 both worked before when I had them both connected via HDMI to the TV. After hooking them to the Radiient and now back to the TV, they don't work.

They don't work with the Radiient either.

Any thoughts!

I tried hooking my Denon 2930 to my other Samsung HLP 5063 and I get the message "mode not supported".

WTF. I can't figure it out. I don't know if my TV HDMI inputs are fried or my components (Directv receiver, Denon 2930) HDMI inputs are shot.

Until I figure it out, I would stay away from the radient. My components worked before I hooked them up to it.
