Hi, I have a 9501LC bought 95-97, I been trying an Xbox 360 on it and cant get it to sync with the 360's 1920x1080 output using either the 360 VGA cable to RGBHV or the 360 component into a Moome card.

All other selectable outputs work over both cables.

I have had the 9501 hooked upto a Farouja 400 and ran everything through that. I have also hooked up my laptop and that displays ok, although my laptop max's out at 800 as a selectable option.

I have tried the internal test patterns at different sync rates and they all work ok.

Would you expect a 9501 to sync to a 1080 source or is there something I am missing?

Hmmmm. Yeah it should work just fine. I have an 8500, rev1 of moome's internal and am feeding the pj via component from the 360 set 720p. I CAN use 1080i but I think it looks better at 720p.
I did notice that for whatever reason I had to have the slider/input switch of the moome manually switched to the component side. Curious.

Hi Greg, I too can get the pair to work if I select 1080i, but not 1080p using the component cable or 1920x1080 using the VGA cable. (VGA doesnt have an equivalent of 1080i)

The HDCP encryption doesnt let 1080p out of component. you'l need to go hdmi out to the moome card to get 1080p i'm pretty sure, but i dont have the xbox 360.

Can someone else confrim this, I didnt think HDCP was something which could be implemented on component ?

I'll try mine today and see, but, I pretty sure they will not allow 1080p over component. However, 1080p is allowed over VGA and you should be getting it that way, I am.

Ive got an HDTV capable of 1080p and that allows 1080p with component and VGA, I think there is something about forcing the 360 down to 720p when playing an HD-DVD using the component cable (I cant remember) but since I use the VGA cable (which does allow 1080p playing HD-DVD) on the TV I havent played with it much.

Im just concerned that I cant get the basic 360's desktop to sync on the 9501 at 1080p.

Ive tried the VGA cable at 1920x1080 while the projector is on the floor and to my surprise it synced without a problem. I use a marquee switcher when its ceiling mounted so I will try again once I can find someone to help me get it back up there.

A couple of observations though, when choosing 1080p using the component cable it asks something about 50Hz. Regardless if I choose 50 or 60 the projector always thinks its a 60Hz signal. Also, displaying the sync rates between the component cable and the vga cable on 1080p the projector displays 66.63 on the VGA cable and 67.5 for the component. All other resolution display approx the same ie 31.48/31.47 for 480p, 44.96/44.95 for 720p.

I guess I just need to see if someone has a problem using the component cables .
