hey guys. after establishing that there is nothing wrong with the video camera i have found that i am stuck with a HD dvd that needs the data to be recovered. everywhere i call it costs 250 bucks to do it!

essentially i formatted the DVD to HD. recorded till it was full. did not finalize. put it away. went back to watch it on the vid camera later. and... i got the disc error, unsupported format icon. after troubleshooting with sony the problem is the DVD. my only option is to get the data recovered so i can watch it again.

anyone have any other ideas. would rather not spend 250 bucks on it.

I have the same problem. I can't trust this camera anymore or the discs. I tried to recover with CD roller and such. I haven't even found anyone to recover this lost data for me yet. I'll probably just have to buy another HD video camera but go back to the tapes. I know the data is there, I just don't know when I 'll ever get it recovered. AVCHD seems too complicated to recover I guess. Disc error unsupported format...what is that bull poop ?
