Need experienced HDR-SR1 owners to guide me. Am new owner, green to much of the technology offered in the camcorder. I've filled the hard drive with hours of video, and now would like to download into several new folders in my PC (Dell). How do I name new folders? Seems the Picture Motion Browser allows me to download only in My Pictures, existing folders.

With Sony's Picture Motion Browser (PMB), you can store the video files in any directory you want.

You need to tell PMB where those directories are. That process is called Registering.

Just click on File, then select Register Viewed Folders and go from there.

If so, what software is needed? You can use Sony's Picture Motion browser or Cyberlink's PowerDVD for playback. There are also some editing packages (Ulead, Sony, Pinnacle, etc) that support the AVCHD format.
