I just recently got a Time Warner HD signal to my Sony 1252 (component thru a Crescendo RTC2200 transcoder).

I have the projector set to 6500K but any part of the HD signal it seems from mid-gray to full white is "off". And hightlights are not white but "different colors".

I have ran the brightness and contrast up and down and the effect does not change.

Is this simple a bad signal or do you think it is a projector problem?

Stump'd!

How is your source routed to your PJ?

It sounds very much like a colorspace problem but that usually happens when you have a device like a HDFury or a video processor.

My source chain is:

HD box from Time Warner component out -> Outlaw processor ->Outlaw component out to Crescendo transcoder -> then VGA out of Crescendo to projector Sony 1252.

I read in the Crescendo manual that the color space for the various resolutions is suppost to be selected automatically. I have my Denon Standard DVD player switched thru the Outlaw, and transcoded to VGA (480p) and it look very good.

There are no video controls in the Time Warner box to adjust tint/hue/contrast/brightness.....

The projector does not allow tint/hue adjustment thru VGA so I am stuck.

I also thought that maybe you had to reset (GIAN/BIAS) the 6500K for each resolution but this did not change anything.

One thing that is weird is when I have 1080i going to the projector it is in memory block 4 and gives some H and V frequency numbers. The 480p is also in memory block 4 but it say in yellow "INTERNAL OSCILLATION" next to the frequency numbers. It this normal?
