List some of the ideas you've come up with using Forge to create custom games. Everyone will be able to see them and share ideas. If you've created something fun share it with the community.
I created an aerial warfare map on "Sandtrap" I removed all pre-existing vehicles and add 2 hornets, one at each spawn side (base). Next to each Hornet I have 1 Banshee. I added one Banshee in the very center of the map and left the one off to the side by the purple debris. Behind each base by the indestructible transport vehicle I place a teleporter. The receiving end of the teleporter is on top of the really tall pillars by each base. On the top of each of these towers I set up a machine gun turret. Each side can pretty much target anything on the map with these turrets but they are equally vulnerable to airstrike. I removed all weapons from the map to encourage a strictly air to air battle with occasional battles from the machine gun turrets and a few scattered spartan lasers and missile pods to balance out a team who happens to claim all of the aircraft.
It's played really well. What are some other ideas?

I have been having fun setting the gravity low, primary weapon to infinite rockets, energy sward secondary. Going to opposite sides of the map and launching rockets at each other. The best place I have found to do this was Sand trap at opposite ends of the map on top of the towers. Turn into the orb and fly to the top and get to shooting. First one to knock the other player off wins.
Then energy sward is for when someone gets pissed and starts running at you with a rocket launcher. Pull out your sward and yell bring it on.

FlyHigh - I like the sound of that custom game! How many aircraft per side?
You can get pretty creative with the new options. The scoring options mean you can invent new ways to win. For example, I played a game that was set up so that ONLY grenade "sticks" score a point. You could take a guy out by a melee, direct grenade, whatever, but ONLY sticks counted as a point. This means you can basically force the game to be played a certain way, so there are a lot of possibilities.
I'm sure most people here have heard of the Rocket Race game - it really IS a good variant. Try it out if you have not yet (even fun with just three teams).
Can someone summarize what Rocket race is? Ive heard of it, and have seen the downloads for it in Bungie's favorite, but havent played yet.

Davio - It's a pretty simple concept. It's a race using teams of two on a Mongoose each. It uses VIP/Escort so you have to actually race to checkpoints on the map, one after the other. Only one checkpoint is active at once, so the first team to reach it scores that point. It's set up on Sandtrap, but also works on Valhalla.
The twist is that only one part of the team (the non-VIP) can drive the Mongoose - the VIP must be a passanger so that the team essentially has to stick together for speed. Now here's the "rocket" part. Everyone has rocket launchers with infinite ammo - BUT, they've set it up so that they actually DON'T damage the players, so you can't get kills with them. Why? Because you use them to blast the other racers off course as you all are speeding to the next checkpoint. Hilarity ensues... It is a REALLY nice gametype - there is a reason it became popular so quickly!

a fun custom game i made was 300% speed, 50% gravity, no grenades, no vehicles, magnum as primary weapon and no secondary, infinate ammo. you can also do it with gravity hammers. the best map for hammers is valhala and my favorite with pistols is construct.

Uh.... how can you even hit anyone with a magnum on those settings?:o
Actually - if theres anyone out there who doesn't know about it - you can find unbelievable Forged maps on forgehub.com. Go there and there are direct links to Bungie.net for getting the maps. Start with the "featured maps" link and explore from there. Can't recommend it enough.
