Okay, I'm not exactly sure where this actually belongs, since there doesn't seem to be any specific place on here for NAS boxes or servers, this seemed like the most logical place to me. If it's not please excuse me and feel free to move my post to the proper place in the forum.

What I'm looking to do, is without using Windows at all, convert my old PC into a 100% compatible with Mac, RAID 5 storage box. My system comprises of the following equipment:MSI Diamond Plus (AMD-939 nVidia based) motherboard
AMD-64 3700+
1 x NEC 35xx series DVD-R/RW/RAM etc optical drive.
1 x Hitachi 120GB SATA HDD (what I want to use for whatever software I will need to make this work)
3 x Seagate 250GB SATA HDD's (In RAID 5 using nVidia's controller on the motherboard)
1 GB Corsair TwinX PC-3200 Memory
Gigabyte 6600-GT Video card (though I realize it''s not necessary for what I'm trying to do, but I have to get it installed first...right?)
D-Link WUA-2320 (I think this the correct one,) wireless PCI card, but also has 10/100/1000 networking on the motherboard and I can connect it either way, but would prefer to do it wireless if at all possible.
Antec SuperLanBoy II case
Antec NeoPower 550W P/S
I also have both a WinTV-350 and DVico HDTV3 "T/Q" tuners but those aren't necessarily needed to be working for what I want to do.

I've tried to install Hackentosh on it, and that didn't work, so now I'm looking for another solution that will give me what I want to do with it, which is to be able to use it to store all my media files on it, some of which go way beyond the 4GB barrier, so FAT32 and the like is way out of the question. I'm actually hoping to keep the drives formatted as HFS+ at least the RAIDed drives, though I wouldn't mind using ZFS if that is possible. I don't know enough about the other *UNIX/BSD flavors to know what I would need to do to be able to do what I'm looking to do, and am looking at least for a point in the right direction to a complete installation/setup guide that will help me in my quest. Any and all help in this matter will be appreciated, thanks in advance for it.
