I know the First one is, and Natasha Henstridge was once my favorite, when she was in Species, but the Sequels (include the Latest one came out last week) also had VERY HOT Babes!

Give it time, there are over 75k movie out there they will come but Im sure Box Office and dvd sales have something to do with catalog titles being released in HD.

That is the reality of it. I am always surprised when ppl ask about X low budget flick or obscure older title (can any say Freebie and the Bean). Yes, eventually many/most films will hit high def discs at some point...but there are SO MANY big time titles and new releases that bad sequels of minor hits are probably not the radar at this time.
I didn't care for either of the sequels but part 3 did have a very hot brunette in it FWIR. I hope they reissue the first Species with far better PQ than the current disc has. It's one of the weakest transfers of all the HD discs I own.

i found that brunette (amelia cooke, had to imdb this one) to be way hotter than the blonde (sunny mabry) in the main role.

Yeah that's her. I remember IMDbing her name right after watching that movie but that was awhile ago and I don't believe I've seen her in anything since.

Well this new search feature seems to be performing rather well. I’m about to start a new thread, about “Species” (1995) on DVD and I get asked are you sure, why not take a look at this.
So I see there are still bugs in this so called perfect HD war format, I still haven’t crossed over yet and I don’t mean cross-dressing. I’ve been looping the opening moments from Species on region 2 DVD for the best, wait for it 3 or 4 hours now! The music sounds fantastic the mood slowly climbing higher and higher than drops down to a tranquil mellow musical sound. Nice voices with the choir. Now then!
From seeing Species theatrically back in 1995 at the ABC Bournemouth screen #1 which was mostly JBL equipped except from the surrounds, not sure what make they where but they gave a good surround for many years that was until they where replaced back in 2004 with JBL 8330 arrays.
I remember being shocked when first seeing it the sound thou it was presented off the conventional optical twin track and played back though the Dolby CP-200 sounded frighteningly scary and exacting at times with natural low end clear perception of the screen channels and occasional monaural surround that caught my attention.
When realised onto VHS PAL I must have rented it a few times around as well as seeing it twice in the cinema. At the time I had laserdisc and then saw it being advertised, so I brought the Dolby digital THX laserdisc which I no longer own, damn! At the time I was running Dolby pro-logic and with no modification to the Pioneer CLD-1750 I was stuck with the PCM Dolby pro-logic mix which sounded okay at the time.
When I was sure DVD was secure for the future home cinema format and with a few DVD already starting to fill the shelves, I brought Species on DVD and was wowed with the isolated discreteness of the 6 channels and the increased dynamic range.
Over the years there have been many other versions to choice from a dts THX laserdisc now I wouldn’t mind that even today. There’s also a special edition of Species that appeared last year on DVD and now there’s a Blu-Ray, I think I’ll stick with DVD for another 4 years until the format war is done over and done with, with one format left standing to serve the paying consumer.
