Sorry that Im so lazy that I choose not read the 5 other threads about these titles but my here is my question, Is weeds that good? I enjoy shows like six feet under, John from Cincy and the Sopranos, I had both season 1 & 2 in my hands at target today but decided not to blind buy until I got some suggestion. What are your thoughts on the series are they PG etc or is it an adult type show Thanks

I think a simple google search for Showtime's Weeds will get you enough comments about the show. I don't think it being available on BD impacts it much. :)

I have seen both seasons on BD. The quality of the show itself is excellent (it starts a little slow but after the first couple of episodes it really hits its stride) although it is definitely an "R" rated show.

The PQ on the first season was so-so - they fit all the episodes on one disc (IIRC using mpeg 2). The PQ on the second season was quite a bit better, though still not spectacular. The only other tv show I have seen on HDM is Heroes on HD DVD, and IMO the PQ there is quite a bit better.

However, the enjoyment of this show does not depend on visuals at all - I definitely recommend at least a rental

my short review:

MILF-fu, ganja-fu, Nealon-fu; Joe Bob says check it out.

I love Weeds. I went through both seasons in a flash. Now I have to wait until next summer for season 3 to be released. :(

Personally, I liked season one quite a bit, but halfway through season 2 I stopped enjoying it, and didn't like the season finale at all because it seemed to get a bit too over the top, and there was too much convenience for the sake of plot for my tastes. A lot of people enjoy it though so I'd say it's worth checking out. I'd recommend getting season one and see how you enjoy it.

Season 1 was awesome and funny. Season 2 got a little dark towards the end, but was still good. Season 3 hasn't been nearly as funny and has been awfully dark. It's essentially nothing more than "How bad can her life get messed up today?" every episode now.
