Sounds like we are in for a treat. I missed #3 at the cinema so it will be a great to have all three...

I don't care if the third one isn't in the same league as the first two, I am so stoked for this box! It's my most anticipated HD release of the year. I absolutely love the first two Spidey's and even though the third hasn't gotten as good of reviews I expect to like it too.

All three should be tier 0 quality. high def digest's reviews are sometimes a little bias.

This is 100% false IMO. high def digest is the least biased HD site overall. It could very well be that Spider man SHOULD be teir 0, but that doesnt mean that it WILL be, nor does it mean that any reivewer who rates it less then teir 0 is bias.

So... you loved the first two so much you didn't even bother to see the third...

although I am getting better, I have not been all that impartial. No doubt. Honestly though HDD is not biased, and if they arent please show me a clear reason which proves me wrong.

I didn't see the first two in the theater either. I saw them on DVD. I've long preferred my HT over going to the movies thanks mostly to teenagers who don't shut the hell up during the movie.

So Spider-Man 2 has no extras (aside from a few minutes of director's cut footage) but still gets a 3 out of 5 for Special Features?

tvpredictions.com rated Spiderman 3 also and gave the picture quality a 4 7/8 out of 5 and said it was best transfer they have seen yet. Gave audio 5/5.

I gave it a 3 because of the cool Spider-Man 2.1 Seamless Branching Special Feature. I have not seen this feature very often on HDM releases, so when a studio puts the effort in to creating this, I give them a decent Special Features score. Remember a 3/5 is really 60%, so it really is not that high of a score.

BTW...i am still waiting for an example from you. If you are sure enough to make a comment like "Mr Impartial" then I am assume you are sure enough to provide proof/trueth that I am wrong and HDD is biased. Right?

Are you also confused about an HD-DVD title getting 10/10 scores for its lossy soundtrack?

HDD is absolutely bias. that is a no-brainer. halloween and dracula are very good transfers but guess who didn't think so even though every other reviews gave them great marks.

Spiderman 1 had slight red push but looked sharper in many scenes than Spidey 2. Shadow detailing were a bit poor in dark scenes.
Spiderman 2 had a natural look but wasn't sharp. Color banding and compression artifacts was visible in 2 scenes.
Spiderman 3 looked both sharp and colorful but the colors seem to vary between scenes.
Average bit rate of Spiderman 1 is higher than the other 2 parts.
Overall a 4 star PQ from Sony and I am sure they will make us double dip with Spiderman 3.1 containing never-seen-before climax.

#3 was a disappointment compared to 1 & 2 IMO. :(

It was -- but I didn't think it was nearly as bad as people make it out to be. You read some folks saying "that sucked!" all the time when the reality is that it wasn't bad for what it was -- and it's still the highest grossing movie of 2007 too.

No. Unlike you, apparently, I don't automatically equate lossy with bad.

Read your write-ups. 2 tips:

You need to learn the difference between "then" and "than".

Furthermore, you don't need to keep saying AQ or PQ when speaking about them in each sentence. If the paragraph is dedicated to one particular aspect of a movie, people will follow along just fine sans the constant reminders. Spend more time talking up transfer quality, fidelity to the master and the effect it had on you as the viewer. This will help the reader understand what exactly impressed you. (Note: I only said AQ or PQ once and yet you still understood what I was talking about... see it works.)

That box is absolutely sick.:):)

The black with the PS2ish blue. and the silver knife looking spider. It makes the US one look like a paradoy.

Spidey 2 has color banding in Chapter 6. For that moment the bit rate drops to 5.8 Mbps.

So anything below a 10 is bad? Wow. Why not just go to a binary scale, or a thumbs up/thumbs down then?

It is a review and their OPINION and doesn't mean they are right either. I have seen and own several of the BD's that got high marks, but there is still artifacts due to compression, yet you will here things like 'it is barely noticeable'.

There is no blue tint in the movies themselves. I did however see a bit of red push during Spider-Man.
