View Full Version : Just downloaded Puzzlequest...excellent!
Kilgore 10-14-07, 01:15 AM This game blows all other XBOX 360 puzzle games like Bejeweled 2, Hexic, Lumines Live and Zuma completely out of the water. What a load of addictive fun this game is! It may be 1200 points to buy, but I highly recommend it. I have 21 Live Arcade games (not counting the ones on the Arcade Unlimited disk), and I can see that this one is gonna be played the most. the combination of RPG and puzzle elements is perfect.
If you're a fan of the games i mentioned above, do yourself a favor and grab Puzzle Quest.
whiskey > work 10-14-07, 09:08 AM I consider puzzle quest an all time great. I had it for the ds and played it religiously while I had it. Then, one day, some young punks decided to break into my car while I was in the mall. Puzzle quest was stolen from me along with my PDA. If I ever find these punks, I will string them up and skin them alive Predator style!
FrankJ.Cone 10-14-07, 09:32 AM An amazing game! Includes everything that was in the $30 handheld versions and more for $15.
KLUNKDM 10-14-07, 11:26 AM Yes...I loved it also...Must purchase, but I will wait until I have time.....Bought too many games this past month......But it is most definitely a must purchase :)
Is there a demo?
Yes. There are demos to all live arcade games.
I think some people may be turned off because it costs $15 which is pricey for an xbla game but cheap when you compare to the $30 handheld versions of the game. It's a great game. If you like puzzle games and rpg games you'll love it. It's like an old school rpg but when you get to where the fighting part would normally be you're playing head to head bejeweled. It's a level of strategy beyond bejeweled also since you don't want to leave a good move for your opponent. It's addictive as hell.
I have to agree, this game is class. The multiplayer is dam good fun.
hotdogwater2 10-15-07, 04:17 PM haven't tried multi yet, but i bought this game last night and it's addicting :)
Layd Dly 10-15-07, 04:39 PM Excellent game especially for the price. its $20 for the DS/PSP and this version is even better and updated, and dont forget HD. I still play it on my PSP
gamegod2x 10-29-07, 10:23 PM wow, i have spent at least 10+ hours playing and im not even close to finishing this game, this game is a steal at 20 bucks, a must buy for sure and better then hexic/bejeweled
JuiceRocket 10-30-07, 12:08 AM I've been cracked out on this damned game as well. Love the combo of a puzzler with the combat and RPG elements!

I looked forward to its release and was very happy to purchase one of the best arcade titles to date. Hours of fun so far.
logicalnoise 10-30-07, 09:26 AM got it the week it came out great game.
This game is seriously crack. When you are up to 1:00am and realize you are working the next day, you know you have a problem.
whiskey > work 10-30-07, 09:44 AM this game will own your soul. You know what is funny though? I actually enjoy bejeweled a little bit more just because it LOOKS a little more vibrant on my projector. The colors really pop I guess. Also, it is more of an arcade style of game than puzzle quest (by that I mean pick up and play and be done with it). Something about bejeweled that brings a slow rolling tear down my cheek every time I fire it up on the pj... Don't get me wrong for a second though. I have owned puzzle quest on the ds and played the demo on 360 and they are fantastic. I just have different needs with these games than most.
GI JELLO 10-30-07, 11:07 AM I enjoy puzzle games but am not a huge RPG guy. I do love the combination of the two in Puzzle Quest. It is a great game and well worth the price tag. Defintely check out the trial version if you are on the fence. You won't regret it.
alucard_x 10-30-07, 12:45 PM i tried this trial out last nite and it was a lot of fun. i might be purchasing it. i almost died on my 4th or 5th match by the thieves. i'm wondering if i really suck or if i will get more powerful.

You'll get much more powerful as the game progresses. I'm a little over level 30, have a bit over 200 hitpoints, and with the weapons and bonus items, always do 15 points of damage minimum per strike. I'm sure there are people there who are much, much more powerful than I have - have better spells, more mana skills, better weapons, etc.
As you progress your learn more skills, more spells, you can train and ride mounts (animals), receive and create magic armor/weapons which give you bonuses, etc. It's a well thought out game.

When you level up and get more powerups you become really powerful and almost unbeatable later on. I remember losing to that first boss (the two headed thing) I don't know how many times and that ended up being the hardest battle in the game for me. The other boss fights I won on the first try. I've unlocked all the achievements except the online one since I'm silver.
