Looking for The Killer and Hard Boiled mainly.

I know that the PS3 version of Stranglehold is going to have an HD version of Hard Boiled on it but from what I heard from my friend at Sony it is an upscaled version of the recent two disc DVD version which was awful (They chopped the OAR not once but TWICE!!!!! plus it has dubtitles instead of subtitles) and not a true HDM quality cut of the film.

For that fact, anyone know what good BR imports are out there from Japan with an English audio track or region free euro releases?

Sadly, no. I'd go apeshit over a BD with nice PQ of The Killer. Hands down my favorite action flick. Just watched Chow Yun-Fat in Replacement Killers last night and it's nothing compared to The Killer.

well "replacements" are usually a grade below the original. now imagine The Killer/Hard Boiled/A Better Tomorrow 1&2 with Replacement Killers' video quality :D

That would be something special indeed. I'd also love Bullet In The Head with that kind of treatment.

bullet in the head i did not like. thought it was pretty boring.

I too purchased The Replacement Killers as a replacement for an HD version of The Killer.

It was a blind buy and I was rather impressed by Fuqua's homage to the Woo classics(Which is what this film is. If you notice, it has elements from all the Woo classics). I think it is under rated. Not saying it is anything close to Woo's original works, but I will take it over Face/Off or MI:2 (Woo's Hollywood films seem a bit neutered to me. Like he didn't have full control.)
