Which B & M store will have the cheapest price?

slateef

Looks like it will be $29.99 at BB. Anyone know if CC, Target, or Walmart will be the same?

CC has it at 29.99$ and so does Target. I'm not sure about WM - believe it or not there isn't a WM close to me. I asked my mother about her store, but they don't have any HD DVDs at all yet.

Best Buy has free lithograph. If you buy the Transformers game at the same time you get a $10 gift card.

I myself am getting it for $17.99 at Best Buy. :)
I have 2 $5.00 RewardZone coupons and a 10% off any Movie coupon. 10% off says fine print doesn't apply to New Releases, but it'll probably work. If not, then it's $19.99 :)

Amazon is still cheaper, especially with the Canadian dollar being worth MORE than the US right now.

Amazon.com - $27.95 - 2.80 = $25.15 plus $5.85 shipping = $31.00 US = $30.32 Canadian, shipped to my door.

Walmart - $29.83 + $4.18 tax = $34.01

So I still save almost four bucks through Amazon.

They had to ring it up all the way to the point of payment for the deal to show up. Picked up Transformers ($15) and End of Days ($12.50).

To the member asking if the deal applied to HDdvd...yes

To the member asking if you had to buy a Blu Ray advertised BOGO free to get the discount....no

Some have been refused, my wife was turned down at first, after asking another sales person they OK'd it. It is in the computer, you just have to get them to enable the Promo at checkout.

Damed's receipt indicates there is a package promo for this. Note the first line on his receipt. Just make sure the cashier selects this package first, and then scans your HD-DVD's. (I used to work there; cashier will scan first HD-DVD and it will give 2 options to the cashier: 1) Select package or 2) Just ring up HD-DVD. Make sure they select 1. Then they will need to rering the first HD-DVD as well as any others you purchase) Should work flawless I would think!

I want to give a big thanks to the OP for creating this thread and the thread contributors.

It worked for me in CC, San Bernardino CA.

I picked up transformers HD DVD and the Hulk HD DVD together for 29.68 total! unbelievable. for me, it did not matter that is was on sale . maybe i just got lucky.

I went back and picked up Knocked up HD DVD, Syriana HD DVD, Lord of War BR, Troy DC BR, POTC DMC BR, stranger than fiction BR and they were all BOGO!!!!

I think the 29.99 rule is true. I tried to get Dreamgirls ( marked 34.99 ) and it was full price with a 2nd HD DVD.

also...the BOGO deal comes up at checkout.

Mine didn't ring up with the discount. I asked the clerk about it, he typed in the code, then told me it was Blu-ray only. But he also overcharged me on my other item and I didn't notice at the time. For real, if I didn't hear about this deal on AVS I was going to wait for Transformers. I was planning on buying it on Amazon a few months down the road as cheap as I could find it. But for $15 that is way too good to pass up!

Trans for 15

U2: R&H for $12.50US (about right for that title, I think, was going to pick it up at Fry's for 15; glad I didn't).

Three discs for under thirty, sorta like the BD $9.99US per disc sale at Fry's. ;)

Man Transformers and Knocked up would have been a perfect combo. I really hate CC they selection is total crap the BD section is three times the size as the HD section and neither really have anything. They had dozens of copies of old titles for insane prices and no new titles. Both that I went to didn't have Knocked up and only one had Transformers. Who is in charge of ordering at these stores? This really makes me want to drive out to another CC to get another Transformers and Knocked up.

The closest CC to me, here in Louisville, KY, had plenty of HD DVD's, but a pitiful selection. I bought six discs for $84.80. I had to semi-convince the kid to ring it up. The girl working with him, told him she thought I was right, because she rang one up earlier in the day. My wife called CC this morning and they told her there was no BOGOF deal. So, if you go....make sure you get them to scan and check it for you. Mine didn't show up 1/2 off until he rang all 6 of my discs up.

I live in the San Diego area. Went to my local CC and picked up 3 copies of Transformers(2 of them are for friends) and 3 other HD DVDs for half off. The store I went to had a promotion where you get a free copy of Transformers with the purchase of an HD DVD player. They also had two walls of HD panels connected to a pair of Toshiba HD DVD players playing the movie Transformers.

man that sucks, i went to CC in greensboro nc last night at 8pm and they still had about 20 copies on HD. funny thing the cashier marked Transformers down to 22.99 manually and charged me full price for the other 3 movies. i told her it was bogo free and she said it was only certain titles, i told her the guy on the floor said it was available on all 29.99 and under titles and she took my word for it. so i got bourne 1&2, transformers and constantine for 49.98+tax. my store had a sign up on the blu-ray section listing certain titles that were bogo free but nothing on hd-dvd so i asked the sale rep on the floor and he really did say any under 29.99. poor communication by CC all around maybe that's why they are in trouble.

I got denied when I tried yesterday. But they charged me too much on my second title ($30 instead of $25). So I returned last night to get my $5 back and gave it another shot.

Me: I've heard Hi-Def titles are buy two, get %50 off today
Her: That's not true. They've been ringing up full price all day.
Me: I've read tons of reports on the internet about this deal working for people.
Her: Well, it's just an online deal then.
Me: No, the reports specifically mentioned they were buying them at the stores. The promotion code is 02.
Her: ...

She completely ignored me at that point and just refunded my $5 without any further explanation. I'm only mildly upset about not getting the buy one, get one deal as I understand it to be a mistake anyway. But for her to just ignore me like that when I gave her the specific promotion code just annoyed me beyond belief. She didn't even attempt to look it up or anything. No sorry. No nothing.

Since I had to kill about 45 minutes waiting on my wife, I turned my 5 & 10 year old loose and let them terrorize the store. The older boy had a blast on his Heelies racing up and down all the various isles and the younger one chased him all over the store. They played hard and were dripping with sweat. I hope they chased away a few potential customers (although the place was a graveyard anyway). And in all that time while I was browsing, not a single employee asked if I needed assistance.

Now I remember why I don't shop there anymore. :D

I called the one in Portage, Michigan and the person from the movie department told me about the bogo when I asked if they still had any copies of transformers.

Cant you bring a copy of that receipt on page 1 to CC and say your brother got them at that price and ask them to match? The bar code and receipt number should be valid in the system.

Anyway, the best I could do is get a price match at BB for the Fry's website price of $24.99 minus the 10%. Funny because the Fry's ad has it for $26.99 but if you search online, it's $24.99

Funny story. So I pre-orded Transformers at FutureShop with a pick-up any day starting Oct. 16th. I got the $29.99 price. So I go in, thinking FULL WELL that they never put a copy aside and the will be SOLD OUT. Sure enough, no copy set aside, even though a PRE-BOUGHT my copy and the idiot staff are SUPPOSED to put one aside. I stormed out, furious, swearing, being a total ass because I was pissed.

So I go up the street to WalMart, not expecting them to have any, but they had 30 left in stock!!! (the manager told me they got nearly 100 in). Only problem? Price was $34.99!!! WTF???? So I told him my story, told him FS's price. SO he gives me a copy for $26.99 and says "have a good day".

A good day indeed. Thanks WalMart......boo to FS...

Even funnier? FS calls me 2 hours later, says the found a copy for me and they are willing to give it to me with $5 off!!! $24.99 Canadian!!!

I am NOT going back. Still funny.

And the REAL kicker? Disc won't play in my HTPC with PowerDVD......I know it will get fixed, but good lord, it kinda goes hand in hand with the day I'd say....

Here's some slightly different information from what I read about the CC offer. It's only as good as one CC employe told me.
The local Best Buy ad that came out on Sunday listed 14 Blu-Ray titles @$29.99 as a BOGOF offer. Circuit City managers were supposedly told they could match and even extend the offer to include HD-DVD if they wanted for any title under $29.99 if they wanted to.

Well you guessed it some managers chose to do so others didn't.

For Detroit area shoppers.
Yesterday I was on the road a little bit, but without going out of my way I visited 3 local CC's. The first had an incredibly poor selection and didn't know about any such offer. It was likely that I wouldn't have purchase anyways. (Shelby Township - M-59 near Schoenherr).

The second had an incredible selection, but when I took 6 titles up all priced at 29.99, they also claimed to know nothing about any BOGOF offer.
(Dearborn - Ford Rd @ Mercury).

And the third store was the charm, although the selection was not as good as the Dearborn store it was fairly good - they had go in and manually adjust the prices, which they did and they priced them all at $15. (Note: they had about 15 copies of Transformer left as of 3pm Wednesday.) They expect to have the sale through Saturday as it supposedly matching BB weekly ad. Oh yes the location it's the store behind Oakland Mall at 14 Mile @ I-75.

Titles purchased: Transformers, Knocked Up, Breach, Shooter (HD-DVD)
Fantastic Four Silver Surfer, Pearl Harbor (Blu-Ray). As noted above $15 each - look for Rachel if you have any problems.

I went to my local CC in MN and the girl at check out was not giving the promotion. So i called the manager and explained him and as usual he threw a sales pitch "What else are you buying". I said i'm only here to get the HD-DVD with BOGO offer. He said that was a one day promotion but luckily I had printed out a sales receipt that somebody posted here on the forum.
So finally he gave me the BOGO on Transformers & MI3.
Sometimes you really need to struggle with this B&M store and it really depends on the manager and how his/her mood is.
Good luck.

So you had to ask them to adjust it manually? and that's where the inconvenience is... if you had to ask, chances are they don't know anything about the BOGO offer and won't give it to you.

I paid $24.99 at the grocery store today. You know HD/BR is finally getting mainstream when the grocery store carries it.

I tried @ the Pembroke Pines CC (I'm on vacation) - NOGO
I'll try again later when the cashier shifts change... I'll take the BB ad as well to hopefully get it.

Edit - I tried again 30 mins ago, still a no go.
Even spoke to the mgr.

I'll try again tomorrow in NoVa.
