I love Sunrise earth, despite being 2 hours of nothing. :D

Wonder how much a 12 disc set is going to be?

Edit:

Volume 1, 4 disc set $59.99
3 episodes per disc

Aren't the episodes 2 hours long each? What a shame that they're cramming 6 hours worth of HD content on a single disc :(
Probably won't have the best PQ in that case. Oh well.

i *think* they are one hour... at least they show them in one hour long blocks (somewhat less, actually)...

i'll buy this for sure... i'm not much of a "buyer" (pretty much rent everything), but i really like sunrise earth...

meh.
Never been much into HD "screen savers".

I love planet earth, but there's at least a point to the images themselves.
I do put on sunrise earth in the morning when I'm getting ready for work. But I don't think I would ever sit down and just watch it for a straight hour.

I can just go outside for cripes sake. Slightly better resolution when I do that.

You're right, they're 52 minutes. In that case, this set should be awesome.

FREAKIN AWESOME SWEEEEET

The episode with Stonehedge was the best.

I love this show, my wife hates it cause she thinks it is so boring but it is a great relaxing show. Hopefully they do a good job on the encodes, The Discovery Atlas series looked pretty bad on BLU-RAY and the discovery version of Planet Earth looked worse than the BBC version.

DiscoveryStore.com is having a DVD sale as of today so this title on BD is $50.99 (regularly 59.99 = 15% off). You can combine coupon 'com10' for another $10 off bringing the price down to $40.99. Not a bad deal for Discovery Store, considering this is an exclusive title (currently).

Damn, that's what I get for preordering. :(

I don't know if their customer service is as accommodating as Amazon's, but it might be worth asking for a refund of the difference considering they only just recently shipped yours...can't hurt to try.

I typically watch this show while eating breakfast as it's a wonderful way to ease into the day. It's not something I would purposely sit down to watch if I wanted to be entertained; but it is a very relaxing and visually stunning series that's perfect in 10 or 15 minute installments. That being said, I'll pick it up if I find it on sale one of these days; but I doubt I would pay MSRP for it.
