I was reading a thread (in this forum) a day or so ago, and someone posted how they put the panny 42pz77u model # and BBY & CC into a site and it e-mailed them when the price had dropped. I can't locate that thread for anything now, does anyone know of any good price watch sites? Or does anyone recall the one I saw in that other thread?
Thanks,
Jason.
I use Pricescan.com
You can set it up to alert you for any specific model. First, display the model you are interested in seeing, then select the 'set target price' link. Rinse and repeat.

Better to just bargain with the managers on the floor at BB and CC. They will actually sometimes drop their prices to match (or come close to matching) major internet vendors if you talk to the right person.
I got a $1k price drop to match amazon's price + shipping (which was within $50 of the lowest net price) on my panel. However, be warned that they will both refuse to match prices from Frys.

Low price = not the best deal + high pressure sales on accessories. These are some tactics used by retailers to get you excited.

I agree. I use Pricescan just to keep up with what's happening in the market. If and when the manufacturer drops the MSRP, it will become obvious from such price monitoring sites. That's when you begin to contact a dealer of choice to discover how a drop in MSRP plays out in retail.
