I am interested in Berkline chairs and want to stop the recline about 2/3 to 3/4 of the way so I have room for my 1st row. I have a 2nd row platform that is only 64" long and need 75" according to the Berkline interactive chart.
Anyway, I was at a store and noticed the power recline track has 2 magnets (or something like that) that signals the motor to stop. Has anyone tried to move this "end" trigger closer to the "begin" trigger? Does anyone know if this is possible?
If not, I will probably have to get the manual chairs and install screws to stop the recline at the point where you need to push with your arms to lay down.

That's a good question. I'll admit that I'm not that great at explaining technical matters such as this one, but I would imagine you could put some kind of stop (a bolt of sorts) in the linear actuator at the point you would want it to stop.

That's pure speculation, so you might take it with a grain of salt!

When I had the chair on its side, I opened and closed the foot rest. I felt the strength of the motor was too much for screws (as I had mentioned). When we held the foot rest (as if a bolt were in place) the motor whined louder than my son when he doesn't get his way.

I think I will take a stab at moving the elctromechanical stop up the track...most people feel the power is the way to go.

Ric97 - I'm in the same boat. Rear riser in my case is 66". I just placed an order for chairs and figured I'd make the best of the space I had once they get here (probably still a month or two off, no delivery date estimate yet).

Did you, by any chance, get a dimension for the chair in the partially reclined position? I went with manual and there's a distinct first 'locked in' type of position but I didn't have a tape measure w/ me to see how deep the chair was in said position.

I know you'd mentioned going for manual recline for mechanical reasons (please update here if you come up w/ a solution) but there's another reason to consider manual: even when partially reclined the chair will fill the entire riser. The power mechanism is very slow, and someone sitting in the middle would have to wait for the person next to them to un-recline to clear the way for them to get out if they needed to take a bathroom break or something. Just food for thought.
