Hi again, initially I thought that it was a problem with the FTP server. But it is not the FTP serve, I ping the TViX and after certain time, 20 minutes or so, the network hangs, it stop answering to the pings.

The firmware I have is the last version, 2.2.0 A.

Please, any help???

Hi

Can you please prove a little more information?
- Is the FTP problem the only one or has streaming broken too?
- What is your topology (switch / hub / wired / wireless)?
- When did this start?
- etc.

Yes of course :

- I experienced only one problem while watching a movie, the TViX rebooted itself.
- Topology:
I have a Netgear GE Switch (5ports) where I connected the ADSL router, a D-link Access Point and the TViX 5000. So, I ftp or ping the TViX via the wireless network
- It started since I connected the TViX to the network (a couple of days)

Thanks

Hi

I have tried the same with my 5000 and I don't see the drop in connectivity. Check your switch to confirm that it is using the correct link speed. I'm not sure which model you have but the LEDs should confirm the link is 100Mbps. The TViX does not support gigabit speeds so an incorrect speed detection may cause a problem.

I too have experienced reboot. This happens very seldom and it seem to be related to the encoding of the file. I've only ever seen it on DVIX AVIs.

Finally, try to ping the 5000 from a wired end point to eliminate any possible problem with the wireless network.

Good luck!

Hi, thanks for your help..

The netgear switch could not be managed, it has autosensing ports.
Yesterday I did a couple of things, sinsce then the network connection has not dropped any more. I did: 1) configure the Fan speed to the faster one, 2) I configured the DNS into the tvix network setting.

I do not see how the DNS configuration could impact the drops in the network, but the fan cooler... well, may be, but I am not sure.

I transfered a huge file via ftp during almos 2 hours and it worked fine, also I left the tvix turned on all day long and I was still able to ping... so i think the problem is solved (be the fan speed? by the DNS? i do not know)

Hmm - perhaps it was getting too hot.
