Hey guys,
My current setup is a media server with all sorts of content on it. I also have a tivo that is wired into the server. I can, with the help of a little program, stream files (divx,xvid) to my tivo. The tivo slowly buffers it and eventually puts it on the tivo HD. This is good and bad.
Good that it puts it on a local hd because i can jump all around the place and do not have to worry about any lag.
Bad because transfers take awhile due to transcoding and if i want to put it in more rooms i have to buy more tivos and pay more monthly.
So i bout a dlink 520. Works well, easy to setup and i was watching stuff in like 20 min. However my issue is no hard drive. If i watch some of a show one night, then want to contiune the next night, i have to numerically remember where i was.
So love the 520, but is there one that will do what Tivo does, minus the subscription, and tv recording??
