The two most popular remote lines on this board are the URC and Harmony remotes. My suggestion is to start at www.remotecentral.com and take a look at the reviews for various remotes there. It would also help if you postd a budget.

As for IR vs. RF, that depends on where your equipment is located. If you can see all your equipment, IR will most likely work fine. If your equipment is in a closet or another room, then RF is needed.
