I hooked up my brand new Sony XBR4 last night with a Terk HD atennae and got horrible reception at my apartment. The only digital channel I was able to pick up was ABC HD, and it didn't look all that great. I also had to extend my antennae all the way outside balcony to get reception. Ok, what are my options at this point?. Should I try to get a better antennae?. Can I can local hd just by using the coaxial jack and not use the antennae?. Do I need to subscribe to Dish or Cable just to get local channels?

Please advise, I'm not impressed with what I've seen so far. Do I need to calibrate the TV as well. Sorry for the long post, I'm just a little frustrated and dissapointed. Thanks

What you do is go to the HDTV Hardware reception forum, repost this, but PLEASE PROVIDE YOUR ZIP CODE so we can find out how far you are from your local broadcast towers, what directions are they at, and what channel bands they are on. What Terk "HD" antenna do you have? As for cable, what HD channels does your cable company provide? You can also go to the local thread for your area and ask for help there.
