The product claims to be able to play divx files except when GMC & QPEL are present. My divx files do not contain any of those but the device would not recognize them. They don't show unless I rename the extensions from divx to mpg, then they would show but would not play. No explanation as to why they don't play. Other non divx files that contain QMC or QPEL are recognized but would not play. A message, however indicates the reason why. Anybody who could help? I already ran the latest firmware 1.4.9
Another question: Has anybody come up with an answer to the password, since 0000 does not work with me either?

Put them in an .avi container.

Thank you Bytre for your quick response.
I am sorry but I need more information. What avi container means? Do I need to re-encode each invidual file or is just a simple way of making the device read the divx files as if they were avi?
If the explanation takes too long to describe I would appreciate a link to where I can learn about the process.
Thanks

I used AutoGK for creating all my divx/xvid files, and saved them to an AVI. Files under 2gb play fine on my mg35 (it has problems with those over 2gb).

Thanks again Bytre,

I will visit AutoGK page to download the software.

Since I have hundreds of divx files, does that mean that I will have to re-encode each individual file and save it under avi or is it a faster process?

I tried renaming the extension of a group of divx files to avi and guess what? The device was able to play the files!!!!!! so mission accomplished.

Suggest you convert any problem files to Xvid with "Super" , available here:

http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html

Many of the users at my MG-35 Yahoo support group have reported very good results using this..

divx files are not support but they are playable on the MG-35 when renamed to .avi. This is due to licensing agreements with divx.

Does anybody have a clue as to what should be the password to set up the folder lock?
