I tried searching, but everyone had a little different of a question/issue.

Basically I canceled my DirecTv service on the HR10-250 a year ago. I just want to use the unit for basically viewing LIVE OTA feeds. No recording required.

But I have no Satellite feeds and it keeps making me try to download the sat info.

Without a subscription or sat feeds can I utilize the unit to just view LIVE OTA local feeds.

Thanks in advance.

Tivocommunity forums got me there. Basically had to re-run the guided setup and select OTA ONLY...thanks all.

This is basically what I am wanting to do as well. Do you need a Tivo subscription for this to work? I have asked on other forums whether an HR10-250 can be used without a DirectTV subscription. Thanks in advance.

According to the folks at www.tivocommunity.com, the HR10-250 can be used to tune OTA stations even without DirecTV service. It is my understanding that you will not be able to get Guide data or schedule tapings but you will be able to pause, rewind, and fast forward live TV.

You can't record anything other than a live feed? No time & channel record set commands to bypass the guide? That would not be very much value.
