We are gonna recarpet our small theater this week. (13' X 16')
At this time we have two rows of two lovestats with recliners(Dark green leather in mostly black and gray room). I built a riser but have not installed it yet.
Now we have been debating on getting "Theater seating" (Like Berklines or the such) and four seats wide and slightly curved, in which case two rows would be kinda tight.

So my questions are,

A)Should we install the riser when we carpet and eventually have smaller chairs in back without recline?

B) Go with one row of nice chairs, four wide and use temporary seating for larger groups?

C) Keep the dark green leather loveseats and go with two rows of those with one on the riser?

D) Open to suggestions

I like the idea of a riser for line of sight and the more theater feel. Scott, my room isn't much bigger than yours...14x19. I use my three theater seats (berks)in the front row and a full size couch on the riser in the back. I used folding director's chairs for temp seating. I'm able to use an extra 5 director chairs with the 6 person reg seats for 11 total.

Scotty,
My theater is about 17 feet screen surface to back wall and 15.5 feet wide. I have a
15" High riser and I use real theater seats not recliners, you do not have room for recliners a minimum depth for riser with recliners is 6' and more is better, you don't have room to pass with recliners open also line of site is much harder when you are tilted back unless your screen is very high.
You might do a recliner first row and a real theater seat second row. I have seen some of those that look ok.

yes....I have a riser with buttkickers built in it. My room is 13 1/2 feet wide and about 17ft deep. Build one if you can. Pics in my signature and how I built the riser too.

I did a riser post original HT construction, and I highly recommend it. It's relatively easy to build and it really brings the HT effect. Some people prefer sitting further away from the screen. Make sure you have enough ceiling high, that's the only problem in my case.
