Hello everyone;
I am looking for a sub to go with a B&W 5.1 setup (CM7 x2, CM1 x2, CMC). I have been hearing that the B&W subs are not all that great, and that it's better to go with a different manufacturer for a sub with these speakers.
I am a newbie to the audiophile arena, so I thought I would reach out and see what recommendations other B&W owners might have on this, or what subs they are running with their B&W's. My preferences are for movie watching (90%), music (10%), and my area space is 12x16.
Thank you in advance for your time and feedback :)

A vote for SVS subwoofers here. Particularly awesome for movies.

I also have the CM7 for my mains, a CM center, and currently some old infinity bookshelfs for my surrounds, and am very close to getting the SVS PB10. It seems to get universally good reviews from everyone that has one.

Thanks for your prompt replies. What over SVS receivers should I consider, other than the PB10?
Also, question for Cfulback---What receiver are you running your system with?? (I'm looking for a new one of those also)

I had at first planned on using the CM7's as part of a two channel system with Rotel Seperates (RC-1070 and RB-1070) and ended up moving them to the family room and exhanged the rotel units for a Denon 3808ci. I have been overall very happy with the 3808. To my ears, the sound quality is the same as the Rotel setup. I admit I don't have a golden ear, but spent at least a hundred hours auditioning speakers before I settled on the CM7's. With the Denon, I have been streaming my itunes music through my home network, listening to internet radio, and it's able to upconvert everything and send it all out through HDMI to my projector.
I have been having an issue though with the video randomly going to black for about 1 second then coming back but the audio continuing uninterrupted. It seems like there are a couple other people in the 3808 thread with the same issue, and I will be calling Denon soon to talk to them about it. I also had to call them for some help getting the unit on my home network, and they were very helpful.

I use a CMC center with my 704's up front as the 700 series center was to large to fit in my HT. I have a HSU VTF-3HO and an MBM I am very happy with the sound I get. The subs and the mains blend very well. I am sure if you get anything from HSU, SVS or some of the other internet manufacturers you will be very happy. If the the PB-13 had been available when I got mine I may have went SVS because the Rosenut maches the B&Ws, but I got the introductory price on the HO and am very happy something better will always come along eventually.
