Well I thought I was totally set on the Acer PH530, but after thinking a while(Since it sold out on TD). Do I really need that much projector? Would the old 480p projectors be ok for me?

A little about myself. I've been on this forum for a few weeks now, and spent countless hours reading and researching. Waaaayyyy too many.

I am on a tight budget, the cheaper the better. I just lost a Infocus 2400. It was my roomates, but he moved out. It wasn't a pretty picture to watch in the day, but at night it was ok. I am addicted to that life sized image and need another projector. Distance from lense to screen is a max of 12.5'.

I watch normal DVD's on a cheap DVD player. Is HD avaiable on these 480p projectors? I'm guessing not.

I know there are alot of these "What should I buy" threads, but I can't find much on these older projectors, or even if they are still available.

Thanks, any advice appreciated.

The only problem is that any 480p worth having is going to cost nearly the same amount unless you buy it used and then you gamble on how long it will run if it does. Have a look over on thenerds dot net.

Point taken... Upon looking at prices at sponsered shops of course, I noticed there really isn't any projector much cheaper then the Acer. Sure makes that descision an easy one. Unless I go used of course. Thanks for the help.

Based on your viewing preferences, 480p would be just fine. Bargains abound. Start shopping.
