I am using a JVC LT-42E488 television. i have HD reciever from Time Warner. The problem I am having is that background sound such as music or the crowd during a football game is louder then the foreground sound such as the actors or the commentators in the football game. I can't even hear the commentators most of the time but the crowds and the band etc, are really loud. Or watching movies i can hear the music but can't hear what anyone is saying.

has anyone seen anything like this?

Check the audio settings in both the TV and the tuner. Turn off all "effects" (surround, SRS, WoW... whatever) and any type of dynamic compression.
