I already have Verizon Fios and just added Comcast (for the NBA LP). Now I have 2 of the same model Motorola 6416 DVRs.

The problem is that using my current remotes (either the VZ or CC), when I press power on one, both DVRs turn on (then both are changing channels when I press Ch +/-). So I have to manually turn one off on the unit itself.

I am getting a Harmony remote (leaning toward the 676) and I am wondering if there is a way to program it so that it will only turn on the power of one of the DVRs even though they are the same model.

Again, I am leaning toward the 676, but will but another model if needed (not trying to spend too much though).

You need IR routing to accomplish this. URC with an RF base like the MRF300/350, RTI with an RP6 do this.

Xantech probably makes a routing device that might work with other brands. No Harmony that I know of will do this out of the box.
