I have the DVR and several components (DVD player, etc) stacked on top of each other because my tv stand has only one shelf.

I am trying to avoid building another shelf to add into the space.

Anyone know a good trick of adding some hard rubber 'spacers' or something similar to the corners of the devices (in-between two of them) to lift one above the other and create some airflow?

I am trying to think of what I can use. Any ideas?

Hockey pucks.

They are 3x1 inch and you should find for $1 puck in quantities.

Actually I went to Lowes last night and got small pre-cut lengths of PVC pipe, like 1/2 inch in diameter and about 2" tall. Those should work well. I also bought a long un-cut length of PVC pipe so I can cut it myself to different spacer heights.

The only other thing I can think of is to cut a circle 'donut' out of some type of rubber or no-static padding and glue it to each end of the PVC spacer to add just a bit of cushioning. What material is cheap and could be used for that? Not too thick either, maybe like 1/4 in.

This thread seems familiar.

Anyway, in the past, I've used the tops from soda bottles and just spray paint them black.
