Big6Foot, tingham (Rupterr), Kevin12586 (logan00) and I (all from AVS) are socially competing in the US Motorstorm league with some very competitive racers. If you still pick up the game every once and a while and are looking to have a few good races on Sunday nights about 10pm EST, then head on over to www.motorstormleague.com and register under the US signups. As other games have come out and fan interest has faded, its still great to boot it up once a week and have some fun with some nice people, but we are in need of some new blood to race against. We also have the league fun night races every Wednesday night for those that can make it. If your interested, head over to the website and check out the league rules. i actually JUST started playing it online this past month, and man, before playing online, i thought i was good at this game. after a few dozen a$$-beatings, though, i think i need to reassess that . . .

Trust me, you will get better playing online against others as opposed to playing the computer. I speak from experience.

Come race once a week against some good people who will talk to you and give you pointers. You'll lose a few sure (I lose a lot), but it won't feel the same as getting whipped online in public rooms. Kevin and I gang up on tingham when we can. In order and no offense to Kevin I think it falls tingham>dogdoctor>kevin in the racing pecking order.

I freaking don't know what happened? I will have to PSN message the president and vp of the league when I get home. Sorry about that. Sometimes the website goes down, but never like that. I just checked the boards this AM and it was fine. Somethings obviously off. If your up for fun night racing though, (add freind Skimpbiz (presidents PSN) - and reference to USMSL and dogdoctor in the message) and you should be fine. Fun night races are at 10 EST Wednesday, and should be interesting tonight, if I can make it. Starts at 9EST and last I heard it was no rules, winner takes all, eliminator style - last place finisher in each successive races is out until the next tourney, starting at 10EST (round 2).

I race in the league and the website has been giving this message lately. It just started happening and I am sure this issue will be taken care of. Just re-visit the website in your daily surfing..I am sure it will be back up within 24 hours or sooner. It is a great league and alot of the racers are very good..but they are all very cool people and good times are had by all levels of racers. If you want a weekly Motorstorm fix without dealing with blockers, cheaters, or singing idiots...this is the place to race. And the competition for points just makes it that more exciting to race online in the game, and league.

well, sadly, i wouldn't be able to learn from your wisdoms, since i've yet to nab a dorky li'l lukeskywalker headset. my girlfriend will put up with all my gaming and HT obsession, but she fears the first time i wake her up and when she comes investigating, finds me yelling into my headset mic at somebody who just put a whuppin' on my a$$ . . .

i think that's when it'll go from cute "laughing at me" to seriously laughing at me . . .

Even if you don't have the headset you should still give it a go. You will still learn tricks by watching other drivers, such as, what is the best path to take on each track.

You will miss out by not having a headset and joking/talking smack with the rest of us, but don't let your absence of a headset detract you from joining.

At worst, try it out and see how you like it. If you like the game you will enjoy our league.

Thought I would give this thread a bump. We still are in need of some racers to join us in the usml league, for racing on Sunday nights. If you would like to race online with a bunch of great people, and have some laughs..just follow the link and sign up. We only race for a 1/2 hour to 45 minutes. It's a great MS fix.

GW-Smoke...didn't you originally sign up with me, but you kind of fell off the bandwagon without even racing one league event? If your interested in some real racing on a consistent level, come join us (you have to race though or at least give prior notice for missing league events or you can be removed per league rules). You would be a great competative addition. I remember that evening you beat me...man that was long ago.
