ok i shimmed up the left foot of my projector just a tad it was out of level by mere centimeters(didnt think it would make that much of a diff wow) anyhow my projector is throwing a 100 inch diagonal picture the picture is perfectly square at top and along the bottom except the bottom is a quarter inch on both sides shorter width compared to the top.i thought you would only get this if you tilted the projector my porjector is perfectly level now i dont understand why the picture is not.is this normal for such a size picture?? i know keystoning will help but i thought you only had to keystone if the projector was actually tilted.

Apparently shimming the back leg also raised the Pj above image level so that the top is now a little closer than the bottom. Raise the whole front end the same height you raised the back leg.
ok well after tinkering for a few hours i got it all set. what i didnt fail to realize is i had the front knob adjusted out so picture was throwing upwards. anyway now i see why people like the lens shift. i guess for ceiling mounting it isnt all to bad but for me mine is on a table in livingroom and to get it completely square and level i have to put it up on some old vhs tapes on top of my table to get it to the level (approx 21 inches off the ground for my screen 37.5 inches from ground). this is my first projector well i had the aw15 for a week which had lens shift and i didnt realize how such a subtle little move here and there would throw the image out of square. i feel like a carpenter with my level out and measuring and adjusting lol .i suppose i could of just keystoned it but as a newbie i hear people saying it would mess with the picture so there you have it.

just for your information I have the hc1500 also and I've got it on a tall box behind my sofa. I have it massively tilted from a normal projector installation standpoint and I am having to use 15 keystone to get the image square looking. I don't think my image is perfectly square in anyway, but I'd just like to add that even after that massive amount of keystone I haven't noticed any if much image degradation at all. As soon as I have time though I am going to get a ceiling mount
good to know maybe next time ill try the keystone since me trying to get it perfectly square was really just a time killer as the projector just sits on a coffee table and is constantly being moved but just wanted to see what it entalled to get it perfect. much harder than with the aw15 but i watched 28weeks later yesterday around 4pm with shades closed with lots of ambient light something i wouldnt even dream of doing with the aw15. hence why i kept the hc1500
