View Full Version : Color calibration on Mits DLP

My Mits DLP has the "Perfect Color" and "Perfect Tint" settings and I'm trying to calibrate the color with the HD DVD version of DVE.

What I've done is as follows:

Looking through the blue filter, I see that the magenta and cyan blocks are out of whack. I adjust the "Perfect Color" option for those colors to bring them in line. However, when I go to green or red filters, they are all out of whack again.

I'm wondering what the process should be. What colors should I adjust with each filter, and then should it be done in the "Perfect Color" or "Perfect Tint" menu (the latter I assume is fine tuning, as the changes are much less drastic).

Also, what about the actual "Color" and "Tint" controls?

Thanks for any help you guys can provide!

use PColor and filters together. Leave the PTint at default because that is for actually color points in a CIE SD/HD triangle. Regular color and tint should be left at default - just use PColor for that.

G+B = Cyan
R+G = Yellow
R+B = Magenta

So using DVE-HD I have red and blue perfect, but green is still off (using the filters). While the parts that should blend with the background are the same shade, I still see the little boxes...while the boxes that should be black, are visible. What I pretty much did is use the "Color" and "Tint" user controls as best as possible to start, then "Perfect Color", and then "Perfect Tint".

Any suggestions? Thanks!

I have the WD-57831 by the way.

I suggest checking the owners threads for the 734/833 models and adjusting your GGL/GRL/GBL in the service menu. I copied someone else's settings (which some frown upon doing) and it made a great difference. I have found many others with slightly different numbers so I will keep trying others to see what I like the best.

There is also the info in those threads describing how to do it.
