New to AVS...my Samsung HLN 5065WX has the dreaded 3-blinking-lights problem. Absolutely no issues since we it bought new around 3 years ago, last week it suddenly wouldn't turn on. When powering on, the audio came on without video, then would cycle by itself 3 times, then shut itself off with the 3 blinking lights on the front panel. I replaced the lamp yesterday, but it still wouldn't work. After finding this forum and reading others' similar stories, I think I've decided to replace the ballast myself before spending $ on a tech check.

I could use your how-to advise on the ballast replacement, including written instructions. Attached is a pic (taken through the lamp door) that points what I believe is the ballast. Can anyone confirm I'm pointing to the ballast and not to the left-handed-smoke-shifter?

I know I'm taking the risk of spending money on replacing good components when the problem lies elsewhere. However, I guess I've got a little bit of DIY in me and would like to try, though if y'all have arguments against, I'm willing to listen. Thanks...
