My bulb finally gave out (2600 hours), so I need to purchase a new one. Are there any local stores that sell these (Best Buy, Circuit City, Radio Shack) or anyone know of an electronic store in NorthEast FL, or is it strictly an online only type of purchase?

Also, is the self-install of a new blub relatively easy?

I doubt you'll be able to find a store that stocks AE900 lamps. You'll probably have to buy it online. PP (Projector People) is located in Tampa, FL, so they should be able to get you a lamp within a day using ground shipping. I'd give them a ring.

As far as replacing the lamp it's very easy. There's a lamp replacement section in the manual, but in a nutshell you just have to remove 2-3 screws from a little hatch on the bottom of the unit. Once you have that open there are a couple of screws that hold the lamp in place. Loosen those (they're connected to the lamp assembly) and lift the entire lamp assembly out. Place your new lamp in it's place, tighten the screws, secure that hatch you opened up in the beginning and you're good to go.
