Hey,

For all the gurus out there. I'm deciding between these three (or 4) models. Can everyone shoot me their opinions as to why each one would be better or worse than the others listed. I plan to use a screen with about a 1 - 1.1 gain (white) ad the lighting in the room, is contorllable, but during the day, there is visible sunlight, but there are blinds (but some light still gets in). Here are the projectors I'm looking at. I've done the research, but can't determine what is better. I've heard good things about all of them, I just want to make the best choice.. Thanks in advance. here they are:

Sharp XV-Z3000 and/or Sharp XV-Z3100
- also, a side note. what is the main difference between these two models? I can get them for the same price?

Sony AW15

Panasonic AX100U

Thanks in advance everyone!

Why don't you consider the best 720p in the price range the sharp 12000 MKII.

the 3100 is dark chip3 the 3000 is darkchip 2. A whole generation better in contrast.

U should read the individual threads on each PJ to find out the stengths and weaknessness . The Sharp is excellent for light-controlled environments while the Panny/Sony are light cannons and more popular for sports/games, etc.

Sharp is a DLP and I dont know about u but I see rainbows on all DLP's (incl DLP TVs) and hence why my consideration for LCD based PJs. Count that as a curse.

In my case, I like to leave my blinds slightly open during the day so brightness aka lumens mean the most to me. At the same time, my sitting distance will be closer to the screen so I need something with minimum SSE and with these factors considered, the Panny AX200 is a no-brainer. I like the Sony too but apparently, the SSE is pretty bad on that one and the sitting distance HAS to be a specific distance from the screen.

My point is every PJ will have its strengths and weaknesses and it simply comes down to what fits in your environment.

Good luck with whatever u go for!

I personally have the AW15 and I have no regrets. You will bet bias opionals all day on here. I have a light controlled room and wow do those colors pop and the blacks are black.

Good luck.
