I couldn't get it to sync up with my Tosh HDa1, I did when I had the HD3000 scaler hooked up to it. Not sure about the Blue Ray. I'm going to talk to Wing more about why the HD7100 couldn't link with the first HD-DVD player, let's see what I come up with. Another thing the HD7100 was alot brighter than the HD73, more than 33% brighter testing with my light meter.

You are very fast. I have a Marantz VP 4001 right now. I love the pic overall--great blacks. However, I cannot put up with the "Bowing" screen. This should not be happening. I think it is going to go back where it came from--not very happy with Marantz at this time on any level. I am looking for a replacement, until I can afford 1080P

This HD 7100 seems to fit the bill with its short throw and lens shift. A bit worried about the bulb, but I will get a mack Warranty for it.

I am looking forward about what you find out from Wing. I would not want to buy this if i could not use Hd DVD or Blu Ray.

Also wondering if you have seen the Infocus 7210 in action. Same price as the Optoma 7100--no lens shift and longer throw.

Any advice?

The 7100 won't accept 1080p so just feed it 1080i or 720p. 7210 is a great projector, but early models were loud and bulbs are expensive

Tom, I guess this question really is for you. I have a H79 that I'm trying to get to work with the digital output from a XA2. My question to Toshiba and its response (it didn't work) follow. Have you been able to get any of your Hxx Optomas to sync with a Toshiba HD player since the 2.5 formware upgrade? If so, how? Thanks very much. Cordially,

Can you elaborate on the early models vs. later models having different noise levels? Is there a location where this is stated by Infocus to be corrected? I looked at the firmware release notes up to 1.2 (latest) and I did not see any mention of the noise being addressed.

I asked this in the other HD7100 thread in the >3000 forum but thought I'd try here since this one seems more active. Is there any evidence that the 7300 has had fewer lamp problems than the 7100? If so, is it because of the scaler?

I read a post by someone who bought one when they were first out and just bought one with the recent deal as a second projector. He said his second one was much quieter. Anecdotal of course.

Can anyone give some insight on the; Optoma Hd7100 V.S HD DT-500 focusing mostly on PQ. I understand, that one unit is DC3 and the other is DC2, though I've read many posts regarding the two chips and many illustrate that there is little difference between the two.
