View Full Version : How good are curtains for light reflection control?

I have my projector set up in my living room, which has a white ceiling and walls. I was thinking about placing curtains on the half of the room where the projected image is in hopes that they would absorb enough light so the image won't be so washed out (it's not a huge problem, but it's something that's noticeable).

Does something like this sound feasible, or might it be a decoration disaster?

Edit: I also plan on getting at least a 100" Dalite High-Power soon if that matters.

Are they darker curtains? I would defiently think it would help you could always buy the curtains and just return if you dont like the way it looks

Curtains are always a good choice for the movie room, just get some dark color (usually red) and see where they look best.

Why not paint the room? A darker flat paint will definitely help. My walls were white and are now a clay color. Contrast has improved dramatically (HP screen as well). On one side I have velvel blackout curtains covering the glass.

I bought some blackout curtains from walmart and made a world of a difference. I was actually able to watch something in the middle of the day instead of seeing it washed out or having to wait till night time.
