So I have a brand new Blue Jeans Cable. It seems to have a loose connector and although it worked yesterday during testing doesn't seem to work today on my projector. Replacing it is out of the question since all the drywall is completed and painted. I just need a new connector end put on it since after inspection I found it to be loose inside the sheath or shielding. I suspect the problem is there at the source. So anyone done it? How hard is it?

On a scale of 1 to 10 it's a 12.
I hear that it is. I have soldering equipment for circuit boards. Not sure where to begin though. I would suspect the point of connection between one or more of the wires and the connector is where the problem lies?

Sorry to tell you but you've got big problems. You should really have left yourself a way to get new cables to your projector. Counting on expensive cables making it through room construction is risky, and assuming HDMI is the last montior feed you will ever need is even riskier.
Luckily Blue Jeans to the rescue. They overnighted me another cable which I can run around the room and still keep the length at 50 feet. Phew. Good thing I have not finished the rest of the basement yet. Blue Jeans cable will be the ONLY place I buy cables from now on. Fantastic service! SOOOO glad I went with them. I'm gonna need another HDMI or two for my bedroom as well. Will definately be giving them a call.

Run your cable in PVC conduit. Then if it breaks or you need a different cable you can re-pull a cable. Just look how cables have changes of the past several years. Composit to s-video to component to DVI to HDMI. You might enev want to count VGA in there some where. Thats a lot of changes.
