I'll admit I haven't heard the PSW10 much, but I've owned the VX-10 and I'll say for $150 it does just fine. Don't expect bone-shaking bass, but it's pretty smooth and good for music. Movies are ok as long as you don't expect really deep bass or to be knocked out of your chair. The Velodyne has slightly better extension than the Polk, and from what I've heard (besides on Polk's website, where reviews are almost all favorable), Polk subs are pretty weak. Unless you need a nicer looking sub with more options in finishes (the polk wins in this category), I'd go VX-10. Of course, if I could, I'd wait a bit longer and spend a little more and get a much better sub like the X-Sub from AV123 or the Bic H-100. Just my 2 cents. Good luck.
